Spiritually speaking, if brainpower is our number one differentiation as a species, why are we?
Posted by: admin / Category: creative real estate investingsquandering our number one resource by not implementing changes that would give people the right to an education and universal health care? If our creative potential as an intelligent race is what makes us different then why do we allow poverty to rob us of our talented individuals all over the world?
Wouldn’t it make sense to pour our investments in schools and hospitals world-wide? To not allow one individual’s talents to go unnoticed and untapped? I feel that everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed, and it would be a wise investment to educate the masses and offer health care to everyone. Instead of investing in real estate and the stock market why don’t people invest in humanity?
I don’t give thumbs down!
Rez and Dawn,
You are right. The wealthiest people know it too. They are just trying to hold on to their power and control.
Pirate,
"a sense of empathy, morality, social bonding, self preservation etc"
I agree that these characteristics are very important and we should embrace this aspect of our nature. I was just pointing out that it would be wise in an economic sense as well….because that is what seems to be of utmost importance to everyone nowadays.
So not only is it cruel and degrading to others, to hold them back, but it is also financially backwards to focus on material gains.
Rez,
I agree completely. When you mention sharing, a concept we are supposed to learn as toddlers, people start clamming up and spouting off about communism and the dangers of it and socialism too. What they are really trying to avoid saying is that they are comfortable living in their luxury while others around the world starve and never make it out of poverty. The same people might donate to charity to get a tax break, and then they tell themselves that they are doing their part to contribute to the poor. It is all lies, defense mechanisms excuses.
I meant to say lies, defense mechanisms and excuses
Digilook,
Wise words!! ((((hugs))))
John,
I agree that abortion is a net negative on our progress as a species. More needs to be done to drive down those numbers such as easing the restrictions placed on parents wishing to adopt and more effective sex ed.
As for the babies already born, they need health care and an opportunity for a good education.
None of this should be a ‘pie in the sky’ as you say. It is possible if we work together…and a lot of people want change right now. We are seeing and realizing the lies we have been told over and over to keep us passive.
Skipper,
This is off topic, but is that your daughter?
Aww…she is so cute ![]()
Abi and Tamara,
Thank you for your answers! I found them to be refreshing for their honesty and compassion ![]()
Charles,
Thanks ![]()
Charles,
Also, I wanted to point out to everyone, because we all forget this, that the govt does work for us. I know they are just as greedy as the wealthy corporations that exploit other countries, but if we all put our foot down they will have to start representing us again. It would take a united populace to say no more to their games of fear and control…but it can be done!! ![]()
I don’t understand this confusion that some americans have between common human decency and communism. They are not the same thing, and you don’t have to go to one extreme or the other. This idea that if a government wants to strive to offer a fair start in life and things like medical care, that somehow they are being a bunch of evil communists? It’s not a question of distributing everything equally, it’s a question of everyone having a fair start in life, an equal opportunity to make the best of themselves, whatever that may be. I’ve always been under the impression that that was one of the foundation blocks of America, that anyone should be able to do anything they were capable of, that it was the land of opportunity. Opportunity is what we’re talking about, not some evil socialist machine, lol. And if it’s right and it’s what works for a country, then it is also what’s right and what will work for the world.
As you say, it makes just as much sense in a capitalist society, to help everyone to reach their own best potential. At the moment, the only way a poor country can contribute to the world economy is by being exploited by it, is that really the world that any decent person could want?
It would make economic sense to help struggling countries with their economy, education and health care, that way more countries of the world can be both producers and customers. But I have to wonder how likely is it that can ever to happen, when we in countries like the USA and the UK, in many cases, don’t even do that for our own people. Where rich countries like ours can have whole area’s where there is no work, no business projects or attempts at regeneration, so that the young people in those places don’t feel valued or have enough hope for the future to bother with whatever education is open to them.
As for this argument against social health care, that it’s a shambles in the UK so therefore you mustn’t try it. Largely it works well in the UK, where in fails, it fails due to bad management. Also, it’s not the only way to do it, if our system isn’t robust enough, find another way, or have a mixture of the two that will look after those who need it:)

To the first question…the health care system in England is not all that great. In reality….it sucks…there is not enough Dr.’s for the socialistic health care they have….which is what they want here…and by the way…there is not enough Dr.’s here either.
I myself will not sit here and do a vote for Socialism which is exactly what your asking here
Remember…..Socialism is really only one step from Communism

Along that line of thinking.. doesn’t abortion seem like we are killing a lot of our potential? Wouldn’t your ideas seem even better if we didn’t spend all this money for a health care system that allows people to kill potential human beings with near unlimited potential?
What you describe is Utopia or a very close attempt at Utopian ideals.
Nice pie in the sky thinking. I’ll support it, but it probably won’t get any far as soon as you raise corporate taxes or curtail any one’s personal sense of entitlement.

Makes sense to me but then again I’m not one of the wealthy few who wants to hold onto their power.
edit: yes, they will whine about socialism and universal this and that but its really all about personal greed. YES, we have to invest in education AND we have to change the way we educate! We have to start teaching our children about giving and goodwill…basic f*cking sharing skills would be a start. The problem people have who are against any of these ideas really boils down to sharing. Watch how mad people get when you ask them to share, watch the defensive walls go down and the offensive rhetoric come up. Watch.

Precisely because the basic differentiation is intelligence (and probably not a large difference at that) and not a sense of empathy, morality, social bonding, self preservation etc. What we like to "loftily" refer to as "humanity" is not that different from our primate cousins, basically the only difference being we have better toys.
Edit:
Yes, socialism vs. capitalism is a way to look at it, but at the root of those economic systems is still that as animals we seek to provide for ourselves and our family, then we look to help our immediate social group. This occurs at a very low, elementary level and thus is masked by a host of other factors.

We would need a world government, laws, and so forth. At the moment, there is just way too much bickering going on. War is a prime example. Not to mention the different laws throughout different countries. Ridiculous when you think about it. After all, everyone of us is human.

It all boils down to GREED.
Money keeps the elderly from having a longer life span, because the doctors are hooked-up with the pharmacist on charging the people for medicine they can’t afford.
The Government was and is run by lobbyist homos who have the money to turn the world into the PIT FOR HELLFIRE.
The leader of the pack is spiritual satan himself.
THERE IS NO ESCAPING IT. IT’S DONE, NO TURNING BACK.

The rich invest in the real estate and stock market to collect dividends.
The middle class invest in education and health care to provide for the future of their born.
The poor invest in the judicial system to stay out of jail and prevent suffering through incarceration from illegal acts.Due to inadequacy and illiteracy.
If the middle class dies the world suffers. They are the working class that pay for supply and demand. What is a bail out when we invest in the companies and not the people that spend their income to radiate wealth.
What killed them the credit card industry. They murdered them by their terms of greed and adversity. They promised and broke the backs of the people that rust them.
What killed them real estate they gave them deals that they knew was beyond reach. Yet they wanted more and they got it in the end more debts.
The poor man will survive because it is in his nature to do less for less. He is use to it.
The rich will suffer loss and become ill with debauchery and depression. He will have to do more for less. He will lose his brainpower.
The middle class will incite many with hope and call out to God for help. They forgot yet they will remember him.
God gives man a creative potential as a Intelligent race. God said give. Most likely it is the middle class that has given their time and attention to men.
Pour our investments into schools and hospitals? Most rich have done that because of wanting for their children. To have praise of men.
So you feel? Who deserves and opportunity to succeed and what is wisdom? How do we educate the masses? Is that a way to offer health care when we hardly have enough left for social security the government is saying?
We all have abused our resources. Race is and issue, yet at this time it is still not resolved. We allow racism to rob us of talented individuals all over this world of indifference. Poverty is not the culprit
It is the people that practice cynicism.
The world is full of Cynical People. They disregard normal standards. Sneering and mocking the Church.

What do we have to look forward too? God said I will extend your loss to your children. I am going to plaster many faces with garbage. garbage thrown out from their feast. Maybe then that will wake ‘man" up.Maybe then we will realize that God is indicting us in order to put new life into the Church. The Church, God’s chosen people.
His promise to the Church was to give new life and peace. He will keep his promise and the Church will honor God. They will stand in reverent awe before God. The Church that told the truth and did not lie. They that walked with God in peace and uprightness.
The Church that kept many out of the ditch, keeping them on the road.
It is the Job of the Church to teach the truth. People are suppose to look to them for guidance. The Church is the messenger of Jesus Christ.
But the Church have abandoned the way of the Church. The teachings in the house of God have messed up many lives. Some have corrupted the pormises of God. So God is showing many up for who they really are. Everyone wil be disgusted with the Churches and avoid them because they do not live the way God told them to live.Refusing to teach God’s revelation truly and impartially.
Don’t we all have one Father? Are we all created by the same God? So why we could not get along? Why do we desecrate the promises of God from our ancestors that binds us together? Our grandfathers and great grandmothers.
The Church has cheated on God a sickening violation of trust in the word of God.The church has desecrated the holiness of God by falling in love with the world. Running off with foreign world trade. Worshiping idols of money and produce.Worshiping alien market places.
God’s pressure on those that do this! That is what has driven mankind out of house and home. Many are not fit to be part of the community of God no matter how many offerings they bring to the Church.
God has offense against us. We fill the place of worship with our whinning and sniveling because we do not get what we want from God.
Do you know why? Simple, because God was there as a witness when they spoke their marriage vows to their young bride and now they have broken those vows. Broken the faith bond with your vowed companion ,your convenant wife. God, not we made marriage. His spirit inhabits even the small details of marriage. And what does he want from marriage? Children of God that is what.
So who guards the spirit of marriage within them? Many cheat on their spouse. God hates the violent dismembering of "One Flesh" of marriage. We have let our guard down.
Now we say it is ok to have same sex marriages. God made male and female. That is what crashed the stock exchange. Reprobation.
The world has said harsh things against me says God. Yet you ask,What have we said against you? You have said ,It is futile to serve God.
Now the world calls the arrogant blessed .Certainly evil doers prospered and even those who challenged God escaped.
God will show compassion on many as a man spares his son who serves him.
And the world will see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those that serve God and those that do not in the end.
Malachi chapter 4 read it. That is spiritual speaking. Brainpower is nothing next to the power of the spirit of God.
God is speaking to the Churches. Revelation chapter 3.

a one word answer occurred to me when I read the first line and all but one of these answers rambled on missing it almost entirely!
SELF-INTEREST!
The term greed may be substituted here but the main thing is that the motivations you cite for humanitarian, socially progressive goals to improve the human condition, further the frontiers of science, and overall evolve into a higher level of species than where we now exist are altruistic. (Naive ?)
"Investing" in projects that you cite that would yield social progress etc. return litlle if any dividend to the individual investor who is motivated to turn one dollar into two nothing else. True there may exist opportunities where this is achievable at the same time as furthering the social/political benefits but as the nature of the investment widens the risk of a positive monetary return becomes less certain.
The selfish motivation when moderated can be used to achieve such lofty objectives and properly should but in a simplistic sense exists of itself, by itself and for itself—-not of the people,by the people, and for the people!
In capitalism the addition of wealth (value) to assets is mandatory for it to work—without a source of income to feed progess society will fail.

Ayn Rand had something to say about "investments" of this kind. there are a lot of good ideas about how to make the world a better place, but "at whose expense?". Do you really want the American taxpayers to attempt free education and health care for the whole world?
We should focus on more basic things first. In 2008 this planet finally reached the level of development where exactly half the population has indoor plumbing. There is still a tremendously unequal distribution of capitalism and individual rights.
Do you really want the world to provide (which is impossible) the world with a college education and "free" (at taxpayer expense) health care when half the world lives in tyranny and half has to poop in the cold, dark outside? I wonder what % of that half doesn’t even have a properly managed outhouse system?
Did we learn nothing from President Johnson’s "Great Society"? We can’t afford guns AND butter AND free health care AND free education.
Bringing us to the present, the plan of The Presidency to keep tapping the producers and survivors to prop up the failures will bankrupt us all in short order. It is pure "Atlas Shrugged" and always ends with the lights going out.
As long as I have my soap box out, America can not supply our energy needs with windmills and solar. Preventing us from developing our vast resources is a deliberate plan to reduce us under tyranny similar to North Korea where tonight they are not only pooping outside but having tree bark for dinner.

brain power is not. the tendency to inquire about God or a higher power is.
what we have in common with animals are eat, sleep, defend and mate. what we have extra is inquire. plants are on the lowest level of material consciousness.
the more we are attached to what animals are attached to the greedier we will be and the lower consciousness we will develop. it is not that our next body is always going to be human. also rich and poor are not necessarily related to the consiousness, they have to do with Karma. Karma both good and bad is like a credit, it has a limit.

As simply as investing in Weapons of Mass Destruction vs The Children of the World. If we are to Change Crime rates, eliminate Poverty, and put an end to war,Then we all need to look at our priorities,While I firmly believe that time is coming,I don’t know if it is going to be soon enough.
What and How we raise our children will determine the future for us all,
While being Christian in nature I firmly believe that we are reincarnating and evolving on the level of Soul or Spirit, If one looks closely at the last 400 years we can see changes for the better,However right now technology has evolved faster than our Spirituality, I fear that some one of these idiocies in the middle East or maybe Asia are going to have to see for them selves the result of Nuclear Warfare, for the world as a whole to be so appalled as to effect any real change. All we can do is voice our opinion and do it often, then wait for the results….That my opinion…for what ever that’s worth…

People are still caught in the game of fear and the mindset of lack. Even though we have risen to the point where we have the ability to provide for each and every human being on the planet we cling to the old survival techniques that no longer apply. We have yet to grow into the awareness that we are all one.
Many are just to caught up in ego identification and fear. Those who seek power in the world are fearful, those who seek fame and riches are fearful. People think that if they accumulate enough power or riches they will be safe and fulfilled. What they don’t realize is that in seeking safety they are creating the unbalance that causes the threat in the first place.
There is very little true intelligence used in the choices most people make in their day to day living. Just because we have the capacity for intelligence doesn’t mean that we will use it. In my opinion the human race has only demonstrated crafty cleverness so far. Our intelligence has yet to be demonstrated.

HI there.
First, Greed and selfish desires are what humans will do with out supreme guidance. History only drives this point home even further.
Humans are very creative with free will. With out a central control, to many misguided and well intended humans try to solve these problems.
But Greed and Selfishness always steps in the way.
World wide ,let alone just our country.

We need to come up with a system where financial corruption in education and healthcare are forced to the surface. Socializing it isn’t the answer unfortunately.
We need to not scare the people who actually pay taxes.
I receievd a tax return larger than I paid in. Its awesome for me, but not morally right to tax someone at a higher percent just so that I may recieve a credit/rebate.
NEWSFLASH:
WE ARE ALREADY SOCIALIZED
I am not fear-mongering, nor a social conservative, fyi.
Socialism:
1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2 a: a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done.
These are SEPARATE definitions for the same word. Most of it is true except for the no private property part. But that’s changing… new laws, tegulations and taxes everyday. More and more individual freedoms being forfeited to the government. Very interesting, but scary to watch.
Communism:
a: a theory advocating elimination of private property b: a system in which goods are owned in common and are available to all as needed
c:***a totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of production*** d: a final stage of society in Marxist theory in which the state has withered away and economic goods are distributed equitably.
OK, So we’re on our way to Communism. The *** definition is what’s happening at GM for example.
Everyone please wake up!!
Don’t you realize that they’re taking over our lives? For instance, the further gun control impositions are because the government doesn’t want us to protect and defend ourselves.
All ammo will need serial numbers soon. They don’t care about us.
They’re afraid of us deep down, but we’re too ignorant to do anything about it, and they know that.
We give them the power to control us because we are still technically a Representative Republic (no, we’re not a democracy either).
Our nation is young, and currently unstable.
We need to clear the fog from our brains and do something… please!!
TO ALL PEOPLE IN SCHOOL:
Your teachers have been brainwashing you from an early age. It takes wide open eyes and determination to start to see the truth. They’re not bad people, and most of the lessons are legitimate. But they have marionette strings much farther out than you think, and you won’t be encouraged to think for yourself. Whether Democrat or Republican, try and have a political argument in school about Obama or otherwise. See what the teacher does.
